We’re entering Module 5. Can you feel it? The atmospheric pressure is lower in this module than in previous modules. But you’ll acclimate.
Here’s the very short homework which we’ll work on in class tomorrow.
This is due next week, but they’re both short and this stuff right here is hella fresh.
But this Kahn section will help.

This whole section in Khan Academy is about the stuff we’re getting into now.
Unit 6; 7/24/14
Here’s a glimpse at the upcoming schedule:
- Tonight we start Module 4, which continues through next week. Tonight we’ll focus on the stuff from last week (Chain Rule and Finding Extreme Points) and Integration (finding the area underneath a curve.
- We’ll also discuss the Project in more detail, which we’ll need to be completed by Week 10.
- The curriculum for this class is screwed up at the level of ITT, and then I’ve made it more complicated by trying to teach this class a little differently than how it’s intended. But I’ve discovered that, according to the new curriculum, there isn’t an exam until the Final Exam, but we’ll have more quizzes, starting with one next week.

Unit 5; 7/17/14
As you can see, we have a sub today. My family has a summer vacation every year which I almost skipped altogether, but in the end I’m there for the last few days. Ms. Anita Parker is subbing this evening, but she isn’t a math expert so you’ll have to try to do what you can on your own, after watching some Kahn Academy videos. Next week, we’ll have a normal week and we’ll go over what you looked at this week in careful detail. Thanks for working with me. So Anita will play these videos and then you’ll do your best to work on the exercise. You should work on the lab during the week if you finish the exercise.
Unit 4; 7/10/14

We’re doing Quizzes 1 and 2 in class tonight.
Quiz 3 will be a take-home quiz that I’ll put on next week’s Unit 5 post on the website.

After studying the stuff on the board at the beginning of class (which is captured in “Notes, Part I”), we’ll watch a couple videos and do some exercises in the Khan Academy.
